Head of Institutional Client Group – Insurance (Bermuda)

About the role

As Head of Institutional Client Group – Insurance in Bermuda, you will lead the relationship management and business development for a portfolio of major multinational insurance clients. You will set the strategic direction for the local ICG team and coordinate with product specialists across Bermuda, New York and London to deliver integrated corporate and institutional banking solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a growth strategy for Institutional Client Group insurance clients in Bermuda.
• Oversee relationship management and business development across a portfolio of multinational insurers.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with treasurers and C‑suite decision makers.
• Coordinate origination and execution of corporate and institutional banking products, working closely with product specialists.
• Drive revenue growth and meet key financial metrics in line with the Annual Operating Plan.
• Identify corporate finance and capital‑markets opportunities, including debt, equity, derivatives and structured finance solutions.
• Monitor credit exposure, manage risk and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop the performance and capabilities of relationship managers, analysts and administrators.
• Represent HSBC Bermuda on external bodies and forums as required.

Required profile

• Significant experience in corporate finance, capital markets and relationship management within institutional banking.
• Proven expertise in capital‑markets origination and delivery of complex financing solutions.
• Strong understanding of the insurance sector and multinational client needs.
• Ability to lead a team and influence senior stakeholders across regions.
