Head of Underwriting Advisory

About the role

As the Head of Underwriting Advisory you will provide strategic leadership and governance for Artex Capital Solutions' transformation platforms while delivering sophisticated risk‑transfer solutions to clients worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and govern Artex‑owned and ACS‑managed transformation platforms, ensuring performance, regulatory compliance and alignment with business plans.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert on platform structure, operation and governance, advising Vice Presidents and Boards.
• Identify and develop opportunities to enhance platform products, expand capabilities and drive sustainable revenue growth.
• Direct complex, transaction‑focused advisory engagements, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Provide senior‑level underwriting expertise, reviewing reinsurance contracts and transaction documentation for commercial and technical soundness.
• Advise insurance, reinsurance and capital‑markets clients on business plans, transaction structures and operating models, delivering clear, commercially focused recommendations.

Required profile

• A recognized professional insurance or reinsurance qualification (e.g., CPCU, ACII, ARe) or equivalent.
• Minimum eight years of experience in insurance, reinsurance, insurance‑linked securities or alternative risk‑transfer.
• Proven track record designing, structuring, underwriting or executing sophisticated reinsurance or risk‑securitisation transactions.
• Extensive knowledge of reinsurance structures, contractual wordings and commercially acceptable terms.
• Experience overseeing transformation vehicles, special‑purpose insurers or insurance‑linked securities platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex, transaction‑focused assignments with senior internal and external stakeholders.
