Host/Hostess – Luxury Resort Restaurant

About the role

Join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Southampton as a Host/Hostess. Reporting to the Maître‑d’, you will welcome guests warmly, manage seating efficiently, and help create a personalized dining experience in a premier resort setting.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests with a professional, friendly demeanor and ensure a strong first impression.
• Seat guests according to floor‑plan strategy, balancing server workload and guest preferences.
• Present menus, take drink orders, and explain specials and wine pairings.
• Manage the reservation system, handling bookings, changes, cancellations, and VIP notifications.
• Monitor waiting lists during peak periods and implement procedures to reduce wait times.
• Maintain a clean, organized host stand, stocked menus, and proper table settings.
• Assist servers and support POS operations, including shift‑end reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a restaurant, hotel, or luxury dining environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations and guest engagement.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
