Mixologist – Luxury Hotel Bar

About the role

Join Fairmont Southampton’s award‑winning team as a Mixologist, crafting premium cocktails, mocktails, and wine experiences for guests in a luxury resort setting. Reporting to the Maître d’, you will blend creativity, technical mastery, and refined service to elevate the beverage program.

Key responsibilities

• Craft, present, and serve high‑quality cocktails, mocktails, wines, spirits and specialty beverages in line with Fairmont brand standards.
• Deliver personalized guest experiences through storytelling, beverage education and responsible alcohol service.
• Maintain advanced wine knowledge, including varietals, regions, vintages, storage and food pairings.
• Lead the development and execution of seasonal and signature cocktail menus.
• Uphold bar cleanliness, organization, HACCP, health and safety standards, and accurate POS operation.
• Support inventory control, product rotation, waste management and cost‑conscious beverage execution.
• Mentor and train bar staff, collaborating with culinary and beverage leadership to ensure seamless service across outlets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; recognized bartending or advanced mixology certification.
• 4–6 years of experience in luxury hotels, resorts or upscale dining environments.
• Demonstrated senior‑level cocktail expertise and strong wine service background.
• Excellent communication, storytelling and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Advanced mixology techniques and cocktail recipe development.
• Comprehensive wine service and pairing knowledge (WSET preferred).
• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling.
• Inventory management, product rotation and waste control.
• Knowledge of HACCP, sanitation and responsible alcohol service regulations.
