Public Area Cleaner – Hotel & Dormitory

About the role

Join the Housekeeping team at Fairmont Southampton, Bermuda’s largest luxury resort, as a Public Area Cleaner. You will be responsible for keeping all public spaces and staff dormitory areas spotless, ensuring a premium guest and colleague experience.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, shared spaces and staff dormitory corridors and bathrooms.
• Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, polish and sanitize surfaces to uphold luxury presentation standards.
• Empty trash and recycling, restock restroom supplies, and monitor cleanliness throughout each shift.
• Respond promptly to guest and colleague requests for cleaning assistance.
• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns and operational needs to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Follow safety procedures, handle cleaning chemicals correctly and use personal protective equipment.
• Support the team during peak periods, special events and deep‑clean projects.

Required profile

• Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning, preferably in a luxury hospitality environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organized and able to prioritize tasks.
• Professional customer‑service attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
