Senior Counsel – Celebrity River Operations

About the role

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a Senior Counsel to join the Development and Operations Legal Team supporting Celebrity Cruises’ river cruising program. Based in Hamilton, Bermuda, the role provides day‑to‑day legal advice and guides the launch of new initiatives across hotel, marine and tour operations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and review a wide range of operational contracts, including service provider, tour operator, port and dockage, and charter agreements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as global tax, government relations, risk management, accounting and finance to align commercial proposals with legal requirements.
• Provide strategic legal advice to Celebrity Cruises brand and internal departments on hotel, marine and tour operations.
• Conduct legal research and risk analysis for new business initiatives, interpreting laws, regulations and contract provisions.
• Support the Board of Directors of wholly‑owned subsidiaries on corporate governance and regulatory matters in conjunction with the Miami legal team.
• Identify, evaluate and propose solutions to mitigate legal, reputational and compliance risks, and educate senior leadership on trade‑offs in complex commercial deals.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in drafting, negotiating and managing contracts for cruise, hospitality or related operational programs.
• Proven ability to perform legal research, risk analysis and provide business‑oriented counsel.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams and advising senior leadership on legal and commercial matters.
