Vice President – Personal & Commercial Lines

About the role

Our client is a local Bermudian agency providing insurance, pension and broking services to both the domestic and international marketplace. Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President – Personal and Commercial Lines will lead underwriting direction, policy updates, audit functions and risk‑control measures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide underwriting direction and oversight for personal and commercial lines, ensuring policies are up‑to‑date and risk controls are maintained.
• Manage and develop the personal and commercial lines teams, maintaining service standards and ensuring underwriting guidelines are consistently met.

Required profile

• Degree or master’s level education and an insurance designation (e.g., CPCU, ACI).
• Minimum 7 years experience in insurance or reinsurance, with at least 5 years in people management.
• Strong knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance across all lines and of underwriting procedures, guidelines and authority levels.
• Excellent organisational skills and a high degree of initiative, able to work independently and collaboratively.
