Vice President Portfolio Manager

About the role

Arch Capital Group is seeking a Vice President Portfolio Manager to lead the construction, performance monitoring, and governance of assigned investment portfolios. The role ensures alignment with the Weighted Manager Benchmark, compliance with ACGL and AIM investment guidelines, and effective risk calibration while communicating clearly with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall portfolio oversight, ensuring quality control and alignment with the Weighted Manager Benchmark (WMB).
• Ensure compliance with ACGL and AIM investment guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards.
• Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance versus benchmark, including attribution, positioning, and risk analysis.
• Calibrate portfolio risk and positioning consistent with AIM strategy and approved risk tolerances.
• Align portfolio positioning with the AIM house view, collaborating with sector specialists and other portfolio managers.
• Maintain operational oversight, serving as primary interface with Operations on trade execution, cash management, and reconciliations.
• Act as senior point of contact for portfolio matters with Treasury, investment entities, and ACGL stakeholders.
• Prepare and present Board‑level materials on performance, attribution, risk exposures, and positioning.
• Lead or contribute to special projects such as tax initiatives, acquisitions, and portfolio transitions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related quantitative discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• CFA designation preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in portfolio management, investment management, or related roles.
• Strong understanding of portfolio construction, performance measurement, and risk management.
