Bartender - Luxury Hotel

About the role

Fairmont Southampton, Bermuda's largest resort, is looking for a Bartender who reports to the Maître D' and delivers beverage and bar experiences reflecting Fairmont luxury standards. The role covers drink service, bar maintenance and guest interaction, and contributes to the outlet's performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including cocktails, wines and spirits, to brand and LQA standards
• Ensure responsible alcohol service and refuse service when required by law and policy
• Take and serve food orders to guests at the bar and recommend drinks and daily specials
• Upsell beverages, food and promotions and respond to guest feedback
• Know guest allergies and dietary restrictions and keep the bar area clean, stocked and well organised
• Operate POS systems, monitor inventory and control portions to minimise waste
• Complete opening and closing duties, including stock counts and securing the bar
• Work with restaurant, bar and kitchen teams during busy periods and support other food and beverage outlets

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a recognised bartending or mixology programme
• 1-2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume, luxury hotel or fine dining setting
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Flexible to varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and special events
• Able to stand, walk, carry trays and handle bar equipment

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits and wines
• Guest service, communication and teamwork
• Ability to multitask under pressure
