Development Underwriter

About the role

The Development Underwriter will manage relationships with commercial property & casualty and high‑risk home insurance clients, overseeing new business and renewals across the Coralisle Group.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate policy renewals and ensure they are ready for distribution six weeks prior to the renewal date.
• Meet with commercial and high‑risk home clients to review coverage, assess additional needs, and make necessary policy changes.
• Monitor renewal retention, log progress, and achieve new‑business sales targets.
• Negotiate terms within underwriting authority and obtain GM approval for higher‑risk agreements.
• Log sales activity in Salesforce weekly and draft policy amendments within one month of client agreement.
• Prepare, review, and sign off on policy documentation, and monitor reinsurance arrangements.
• Act as primary liaison for assigned clients, input data into the Synergy System, and lead special projects.
• Provide suggestions for efficiency improvements and deliver verbal or written reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Underwriting designation (e.g., CPCU, ACII) preferred or a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in Property & Casualty insurance.
• Strong customer‑service background with the ability to manage commercial and high‑risk personal lines.
