Account Manager (Issuer Services)

About the role

Ocorian is hiring an Account Manager (Issuer Services) in Hamilton, working with a strong focus on insurance-related clients. As part of a team of Account Managers, the role provides efficient professional accounting and administrative services to meet the management, accounting and back-office needs of Ocorian Management's clients, both internal and external, plus other reasonable activities required by the role.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of clients, mainly Bermuda-registered insurance companies, applying technical knowledge to practical situations in banking, regulatory compliance and ad hoc requests and reports.
• Maintain (or supervise the maintenance of) clients' accounting records and prepare financial reports in line with industry requirements and US GAAP or IFRS standards.
• Liaise directly with clients, bankers, brokers, auditors, regulators and other service providers.
• Assist in developing new business areas and marketing, and coordinate listing services, liaising with the Bermuda Stock Exchange or other exchanges as needed.
• Prepare Statutory Financial Returns in line with the Bermuda Insurance Act 1978.
• Review and monitor procedures to ensure compliance with best practice.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant, such as a Chartered Accountant or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience; 1 year of insurance or funds-related experience preferred.

Required skills

• Detailed knowledge of preparing GAAP and IFRS-compliant financial statements.
• Ability to apply internal controls and compliance procedures in client service situations.
