Door Person

About the role

Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, Bermuda's only luxury urban resort, is hiring a Door Person. Reporting to the Head Bell Person, the role is based at the front entrance and lobby and focuses on welcoming guests, managing arrivals and departures and keeping the entrance area orderly.

Key responsibilities

• Offer professional, engaging and proactive guest service while supporting colleagues
• Control the flow of traffic and assist guests with transportation
• Run the taxi queue fairly on a first-come, first-served basis and ensure drivers follow yard rules
• Keep the front area of the hotel free of luggage and make sure taxis are available to meet demand
• Remind departing guests to hand in their room keys and efficiently dispatch guests with pre-arranged transfers
• Work closely with the Bellman at the front entrance and lobby
• Maintain a neat and tidy appearance, as it is the guests' first and last impression
• Control the gathering of unauthorized persons at the main entrance and stay at the station unless authorised by the supervisor
• Participate in hotel committees and follow all health and safety guidelines, including those set by Accor, local authorities and the WHO and CDC
• Carry out other duties assigned by the department

• Energetic, positive, hardworking, professional and a team player

• Passion for delivering outstanding guest service
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays

Physical demands

• Sitting 0-1 hour per day; walking and standing 6-8 hours per day
• Bending/reaching and pushing/pulling 4-6 hours per day
• High physical effort, lifting objects over 50 lbs
• Medium visual effort and a busy atmosphere
