Rooms Controller

About the role

The Rooms Controller is a key Front Office position at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, Bermuda's luxury urban resort. The role manages room inventory, room status, room assignments and the overall flow of accommodation operations, working closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering and other departments to maximise room availability and ensure accurate room status.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage daily room inventory, room status, room assignments and availability to maximise occupancy and efficiency.
• Review arrivals, departures, VIPs, special requests, room preferences and special occasions to make strategic room assignments.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping so rooms are prioritised, inspected, released and ready for guests.
• Resolve room discrepancies, out-of-order rooms and other inventory issues promptly.
• Support oversold room types, room moves, upgrades and relocations, and communicate availability or guest-impacting issues to Front Office leadership.
• Ensure room assignments reflect guest preferences, VIP status, repeat guest recognition and accessibility requirements.
• Support a seamless arrival and departure experience and, as needed, cover Front Desk operations such as check-ins, check-outs, room changes and billing inquiries.
• Follow all corporate, hotel, departmental and safety policies, and comply with Health & Safety training and guidelines.

Required profile

• Previous Front Office or similar hotel/hospitality experience is preferred; luxury hotel or resort experience is an asset.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration across departments.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of hotel property management systems (OPERA CLOUD)
