Head of Operations

About the role

HSBC is seeking a Head of Operations to lead the Asset Management Operations function across a market or country. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on management of internal business services, technology delivery, and transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define functional goals, set objectives and build a strong talent pipeline for the operations team.
• Manage a service‑operations unit responsible for delivering internal business services, technological services and transformation resources.
• Design development activities, schedule work and ensure optimal coverage for stakeholders.
• Engage with stakeholders to capture business needs and translate them into operational plans.
• Maintain a robust control and governance environment in line with HSBC policies and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, cost‑effectiveness and service quality.
• Contribute to market‑level business strategy, change programmes and transformational initiatives.
• Implement Asset Management operational strategy, coordinate audits, compliance monitoring and risk mitigation.
• Oversee fund administrator performance, define KPIs and conduct periodic service reviews.
• Coordinate business continuity planning and ensure implementation of Group policies locally.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in complex operational environments, preferably within financial services or asset management.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, audit processes and risk management.
• Ability to manage cross‑functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
