Recreation Attendant

About the role

Fairmont Southampton, Bermuda's largest resort, is looking for a Recreation Attendant to join its team reporting to the Recreation Manager. The role delivers leisure experiences across the resort's recreation venues, keeping guests safe and comfortable, maintaining pristine facilities, providing warm service and supporting a range of recreational programmes and activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist guests with their daily needs and requests, and ensure they have access to amenities such as towels, loungers, umbrellas, water, sunscreen and recreational supplies.
• Lead and support recreation programming such as poolside games, family activities, sports, crafts and themed events.
• Keep recreation facilities clean, organised and safe, and monitor them for hazards, maintenance needs or equipment issues.
• Replenish guest amenities throughout the day and stage equipment and materials to luxury service standards.
• Set up, run and break down recreation activities and events, and support special programming and seasonal activities.
• Follow safety procedures and emergency guidelines, and complete logs, checklists and reports accurately and on time.

Required profile

• 1-2 years of experience in recreation, leisure services, hospitality or a guest-facing customer service environment; resort, beach, pool or fitness/recreation experience is an asset.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/First Aid certification is an advantage (or willingness to obtain it).
• Available for flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and peak seasons, and comfortable working outdoors on the beach, pool and resort grounds.

Required skills

• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work independently within a fast-paced team.
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to lift and set up recreation equipment.
