Senior Fund Accountant

About the role

Apex Group, a fund administration and middle office solutions provider founded in Bermuda in 2003, is hiring a Senior Fund Accountant. The role covers daily NAV preparation, reconciliations, pricing review and fee accruals for hedge fund clients, with close coordination with clients, auditors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare NAVs for hedge fund clients on a daily, weekly or monthly basis
• Prepare cash, position and market value reconciliations, resolve breaks and notify clients or client service managers; adjust accounts for erroneous or missing transactions
• Review portfolio pricing and analyse pricing exceptions
• Review corporate actions booked in the system and ensure they are correctly reflected in the books
• Reconcile dividends and interest with broker reports
• Accrue and amortise daily or monthly non-security related fees, including management fees and financing accruals
• Process non-automated transactions such as OTC derivatives and their cash movements, and check that all OTC products are booked correctly
• Book capital activities of the fund and provide daily reporting of estimates, NAVs and query resolutions to clients
• Complete ad hoc client requests and support audits, preparing financial statements and tracking issues to closure
• Coordinate with securities/trades and pricing teams, reporting, investor services, auditors and client service managers

Required profile

• Around 2-4 years of accounting experience; fund industry experience is an advantage
• ACCA qualified, partly qualified or an equivalent qualification
• Excellent time management and organisation, able to meet tight deadlines and work extra hours
• Good interpersonal communication and teamwork skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with fund accounting software is an advantage
