Underwriting Assistant

About the role

The Underwriting Assistant supports the property underwriting lifecycle from submission through policy issuance. Working closely with underwriters, brokers, reinsurers and cross‑functional partners, the role ensures risk analyses and underwriting packages are accurate, compliant and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end underwriting support for the property team, from submission to renewal under underwriter guidance.
• Gather, validate and organise information from brokers, clients, reinsurers, claims, accounting and IT to enable risk analysis.
• Prepare policy documentation such as binders, endorsements and regulatory notices, and assist with pricing inputs.
• Maintain accurate electronic files and ensure compliance with audit standards and internal controls.
• Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks and escalate issues as needed.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high‑quality service.
• Support renewal preparation, process improvements and testing activities.
• Utilise approved AI and automation tools to enhance efficiency and customer outcomes.
