Head of Business Risk, CIB

About the role

The Head of Business Risk for Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) will lead risk strategy, governance and oversight across the CIB franchise. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure robust controls, risk reporting and incident management while supporting the sustainability of CIB operations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and own risk‑performance strategy, governance and reporting for CIB.
• Collaborate with the Group Chief Operating Officer Risk & Control team to track issues and act as escalation point.
• Ensure CIB teams understand and apply relevant policies and procedures.
• Identify procedural pain points, support automation and improve control efficiency.
• Maintain adequate controls for financial crime risk, working with regional and global partners.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise for policy setting, guidance and risk exposure assessment.
• Promote data‑driven, accountable risk‑control decisions.
• Reassess operational risks in light of market, regulatory and business changes.
• Challenge inefficient or outdated controls and behaviours.
• Represent CIB at risk forums and contribute to entity‑wide risk projects.
• Design, chair and participate in oversight meetings to deliver performance insights.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in risk management within corporate or institutional banking.
• Proven ability to work with senior leadership and influence risk culture.
• Strong analytical mindset with commercial awareness.
• Track record of implementing governance frameworks and driving continuous improvement.
