Assistant Maître D’ – Luxury Hotel Restaurant

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Maître D’ to support the Maître D’ in delivering seamless guest arrival and dining experiences at Fairmont Southampton, Bermuda’s largest resort.

Key responsibilities

• Manage guest arrival, greeting, reservations, seating, and dining‑room flow.
• Maintain a strong floor presence, anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns promptly.
• Support daily restaurant operations, including opening, closing, service pacing and table turns to maximize revenue.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Assist the Maître D’ with financial targets, revenue optimisation and POS controls.
• Supervise, coach and develop service colleagues, handling onboarding and ongoing training.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in a high‑volume restaurant, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Hospitality Management certification, diploma or degree is an asset.
• Food‑safety certification (or willingness to obtain).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Micros or similar POS systems and self‑cashiering procedures.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and communication.
• Food safety knowledge and certification.
