Head of Reinsurance

About the role

Artex is seeking a senior leader to head its reinsurance function within the Artex Capital Solutions (ACS) platform. The role will drive transformation initiatives, advise cedants and investors, and ensure regulatory compliance across all ACS vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Provide governance and strategic direction for the ACS transformation platform and advisory services.
• Structure and oversee transformation deals, working closely with cedants, investors and brokers.
• Manage onboarding of transformation transactions and coordinate with operations and compliance teams.
• Lead the establishment, licensing and regulatory interaction for new Artex Axcell Collateralized Insurers.
• Negotiate transactional documents with investors and cedants in partnership with the Chief Legal Officer.
• Act as primary contact for the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) on licensing, business‑plan alignment and regulatory challenges.
• Oversee all aspects of strategy, governance, reporting and product development for transformation vehicles.
• Advise on capital optimisation, debt and equity structuring, and BSCR classification.
• Support the creation of comprehensive business plans and preparation for regulator assessments.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in reinsurance, capital‑market transformation and regulatory environments.
• Proven track record of leading complex advisory projects and managing investor‑cedant relationships.
• Strong understanding of licensing processes, BMA requirements and capital optimisation strategies.
• Ability to work closely with legal, compliance and operations teams to deliver transaction outcomes.
