Kitchen & Facility Cleaner

About the role

A full-time Kitchen & Facility Cleaner is sought to help maintain a clean, safe and sanitary environment for staff and customers. The cleaner supports daily operations by following cleaning schedules and assists the Duty Manager as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Daily duties: empty trash cans and replace liners, flatten cardboard boxes and dispose them in the dumpster, keep the area around the dumpster and outdoors tidy
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, trays and bakery equipment using the 3-sink method (wash, rinse, sanitize)
• Sweep and mop kitchen, bakery, dining, customer and back areas; clean and sanitize kitchen sinks and prep areas
• Check, clean and restock washrooms upstairs and downstairs, and organize clean dishes and equipment
• Complete additional cleaning tasks assigned by the Duty Manager
• Weekly deep cleaning: under kitchen equipment, shelves and legs; walls, ceilings, corners and light fixtures; walk-in coolers and dry storage; outdoor carry-out areas; hoods, vents, pizza grill, windows and back areas

Required profile

• Previous cleaning, janitorial or kitchen experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Strong attention to detail, able to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual and professional attitude
• Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
