Restaurant Manager - Fast Food

About the role

Thomas United Company Limited (TUCL) is a multi-concept food service company in Bermuda operating warehouses, restaurants, concessions, bakeries and catering, including independent multi-cuisine fast-food and smart-casual/fine-dining restaurants. It is looking for experienced managers for its Burger Brand, Pizza Brand and Casual Dining/Catering operations. The successful applicant must have a proven track record of managing a start-up fast food restaurant and growing the business, and will manage daily operations and employee performance.

Key responsibilities

• Financial: increase sales and minimize expenses, complete payroll duties accurately and on time, own the restaurant's profit and loss, follow cash control and security procedures, and use financial reporting to improve results.
• Food safety and planning: enforce sanitary food handling and cleanliness, ensure consistent food quality, maintain inventory and work with staff on efficient provisioning and purchasing.
• Customer service: deliver a positive experience and resolve customer complaints.
• Operations: set up security procedures, keep a safe working environment, complete accident reports, manage and schedule shifts, direct food and beverage preparation and sale, maintain equipment and evaluate the restaurant.
• Marketing: implement and promote marketing strategies.
• Personnel: set performance goals, conduct reviews, give direction, and supervise, train, coach and give ongoing feedback to staff.

Required profile

• At least five years of management experience in a fast food operation; multi-unit, start-up and drive-through experience preferred.
• Ideally experience in a hamburger-focused restaurant.
• Demonstrated hands-on management experience.
• Proven skills in food planning and preparation, purchasing and staff management.
• Flexible, problem-solving, able to work under pressure and with excellent customer service skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
